MISSION
To revitalize the Central Business District through the zealous pursuit and promotion of the downtown development activities.

through the encouragement and support of commercial, retail, and residential activities;

through the creation of an Arts & Entertainment District;

through the creation and promotion of a safe and clean downtown environment;

through the development of promotional and public relations.
HISTORY
The
Youngstown Central Area Community Improvement Corporation, (YCACIC), was
created April 25, 1988, under the provisions of Title XVII, Chapter 1702 of the
Revised Code of the State of Ohio.
The YCACIC
is a private, non-profit economic development organization with the primary
purpose of promoting the revitalization of the Central Business District of
Youngstown, Ohio.
Over the years, the YCACIC has acted as
owner/developer for the renovation of the former Elks
Building into the Morley Center
for the Arts, the construction of the George
V. Voinovich
Government Center,
the Mahoning County Children
Services Board
Building, and the Seventh
District Court of Appeals. The YCACIC is also developing the Taft Technology
Center, an extension of
the Youngstown Business Incubator.
The YCACIC is operated exclusively for the charitable purposes under Section
501 c (3) of the Internal Revenue Code with the primary purpose of advancing,
encouraging, and promoting the industrial, economic, commercial, retail, and
civic development of the Central Business District of Downtown Youngstown.
